Sad to say the ski trip did not end in quite the way we all hoped as two members of our party are not with us on the journey home. Everything had gone so well but for one young man a trip to hospital and for our group leader an extra night means we are slightly subdued.
On the bright side they get to fly home. For the remainder a long journey home on the coach and a chance for Mr Buck to practice his leadership skills in time for next year!! (Ben and I are not too subdued for a one hour flight though teehee - KC)
Mr Cross has planned with his usual military precision so there was no problem adapting to the change. We wish them both well and a speedy return.
The last day is always a challenge but the students have shown again great sense and maturity as well as genuine care and concern.
Having been on a few trips I can honestly say they have been a pleasure and a joy to accompany. Everyone has been supportive, appreciative and polite. They've done us proud.
Remembering back to the first morning on the nursery slope and watching the first timers struggling to not go backwards and seeing them progress to red slopes by the end of the week has been incredible. If only I could have kept up with them!
The banter has been most entertaining but in the best possible taste and the positive support and feedback from everyone including the wonderfully patient instructors meant no one felt left out or as in my case a bit useless. Then again even I got better and managed a blue run or two without crashing . As for the scenery, views and Austrian culture what can be said that's not been said already other than it's been incredible and we are all glad we came. Fantastic.
